Future Musicians
(Music & Art) Half-day Camp 

Age: 5 - 11

Time: 9  am - 12 pm
Length: 1 week (M-F)

Welcome to Future Musicians Summer Half Day Camp - the perfect blend of musical exploration and artistic expression. Designed for students ages 5 to 11, our half day camp offers an immersive experience into the world of music and art, discovering their inner talents and nurturing creative spirits. 

The Piano Lab:

For the first hour and 15 minutes, group 1 students (5 students) will embark on an exciting journey through music fundamentals. Our Piano Lab offers students a fully immersive experience, providing digital stations for up to five players; The lab is a great way to inspire curiosity in tech savvy students, making our daily lessons a gamified experience.

 

We'll be learning posture and hand placement, music symbols and the musical alphabet, the musical staff, how to read rhythms and melodies, and play beloved, familiar tunes!

The Art Room:

 

But the creativity doesn't stop there! After a snack break, group 1 students will unleash their imagination through daily art projects in our dedicated art room. From painting to collage-making, they'll have the opportunity to craft heir own masterpieces inspired by the musical concepts we will be exploring throughout the week. Imagine the joy of creating a visual representation of a favorite melody or composing an abstract piece while exploring musical rhythms – that's what our Future Musicians camp is all about!

Piano Lab Group Workshops

Age: 7 - 17
Day: Mondays


Time: 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Length: 4 weeks

Join us for an exciting journey into the world of piano with our Piano Lab group workshop programs! Designed for beginners, these workshops offer a fun and supportive environment where you can learn the fundamentals of piano playing and music theory.

Class Structure: Each class is 1 hour long and is held every Monday, booked on a monthly basis. Over the course of the month, you will cover a range of foundational concepts, building your skills step by step:

Week 1: Piano Basics
- Introduction to the piano: Parts of the piano and how it works
- Proper posture and hand placement
- Introduction to the musical alphabet and keys

Week 2: Scales and Keys
- Major and minor scales
- Understanding key signatures
- Finger exercises for scales

Week 3: Music Symbols and Notation
- Introduction to music symbols: Notes, rests, and dynamics
- Reading notes on the treble and bass clefs
- Practice reading simple melodies

Week 4: Rhythms and Melodies
- Understanding rhythm notation: Time signatures and rhythms
- Playing melodies with varied rhythms
- Putting it all together: Playing simple pieces

The class time is split as follows:

- Introduction and Warm-up (10 minutes): Start the class with a brief introduction and warm-up exercises to get your fingers ready for playing.  

- Theory and Technique (20 minutes): Dive into essential music theory concepts and piano techniques. Learn about the piano, proper posture, hand placement, scales, keys, and music symbols.  

- Reading Music (20 minutes): Develop your skills in reading music notation. Explore the basics of the staff, notes, rhythms, and melodies.  

- Review (10 minutes): The class will review the concepts explored in the lesson together and answer any questions

Whether you've never touched a piano before or you're looking to refresh your skills, our Piano Lab workshops provide a supportive and structured learning environment to help you reach your musical goals. Join us for a month of learning, discovery, and musical enjoyment!
